La Sabana is a decent size park in San Jose. I would agree that it is well worn but it does serve a purpose and lots of football fields, cycling, walking etc. lots of damaged seats.Full review by StephenCr0ss

This is a large park frequented on weekends by the local community. It seems to have seen better days and has been hurt by the recent drought. Not a must see but we stayed near here.Full review by TomCost

Dried out pond , closed public bathrooms guarded by the police. All together- very poorly maintained park. Not worth it at all .Full review by Dreamer728983

Hi there! Around what time did you go for your morning walk/run? I'm trying to figure out from what time on it would be safe for a girl to go running there. I run 5 times a week and am moving to Costa Rica (San José) soon and can't imagine not being able to run anymore! Would be so happy if the park is 'safe' already in the morning.. What do you think?

Hi there, it gets light there quite early and as life start rather early in San José, there are joggers out and about once it's light, so around 5.30am there is already people running, filling up at 6am. Now, the park is quite large and you should see enough joggers on the main paths to feel safe there with them. I've been travelling to Costa Rica for years on business and never had any negative experience while running in the park. You will also see sports teams meeting up there on the paths and lawns for practice on some mornings.
