Christina Applegate's multiple sclerosis battle began long before she was diagnosed with the disease in 2021. On the latest episode of her "MeSsy" podcast with Jamie-Lynn Sigler, Applegate recalled experiencing her first symptoms of MS during the pilot for the Netflix show Dead to Me in 2019,

“I remember falling that day. Hi, first sign of MS!” she said to the show’s creator Liz Feldman on Applegate and Jamie-Lynn Sigler’s MeSsy podcast, recalling a sequence in which her character Jen was running across a field.
