One person is dead following a crash Wednesday afternoon in Eustis, Lake County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating a deadly hit-and-run crash that left a woman dead in Lake County on Wednesday. Troopers said the crash occurred around 1:47 p.m. on State Road 44 and Forest Ridge Road in Eustis.

Troopers say the victim, an 85-year-old woman from Marion, was traveling west on Southwest 73rd Street Road and was at a stop sign.

A Pensacola motorcyclist has critical injuries after colliding with an SUV on Wednesday, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. According to FHP, a Harley Davidson with a single rider was riding westbound on West Michigan Avenue.

The woman was riding her 2023 Harley Davidson southbound on Hickman Drive south of Ava Court around 10:30 a.m. when she failed to negotiate a curve, FHP said.
