An officer shot and killed a dog after it bit a policeman in Northwest, D.C. Wednesday evening, according to the Metropolitan Police Department.

WASHINGTON — Police are investigating after officers shot and killed a dog they say charged at them, biting one, in Northwest D.C. According to the Metropolitan Police Department, the shooting happened in the 6700 block of Piney Branch Rd. around 6 p.m.

A D.C. police officer shot and killed a dog Wednesday evening. The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) said just after 6 p.m., officers were called to a “domestic disturbance” in the 6700 block of Piney Branch Road in Northwest.

A shooting left a woman injured Tuesday evening in Southeast, D.C., according to the Metropolitan Police Department.

The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) said Monday it arrested someone for fatally shooting a man over the summer in Southeast D.C. Just before 2:45 p.m. on July 28, officers responded to the report of gunshots being heard in the 3200 block of 28th St.
