German Chancellor Olaf Scholz visited Kiev for the first time in two and a half years on Monday with a message of support from Berlin, pledging that "Germany will remain Ukraine's strongest supporter in Europe.

NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte said on Tuesday he wants members of the Western military alliance to focus more on arming Ukraine than debating possible scenarios for ending the ongoing Russian invasion.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said Sunday that his country needed security guarantees from NATO and more weapons to defend itself before any talks with Russia.
