A stepfather and stepson are accused of attempting to kill a man for money in early February, according to a Texas court. Documents from Harris County District Court detail how Ricardo Antonio Obando accepted cash from an unknown person to kill a man and then paid his stepson, Matthew Xavier Rosas, to assist him.

Two men are charged in a ‘murder for hire’ plot, according to officials. However, the victim survived being shot multiple times.

The 40-year-old victim was hit while driving a company vehicle on the Grand Parkway just north of Highway 290, deputies said.
