Maruti Suzuki India, the country's largest carmaker, is all set to launch its first electric vehicle (EV): an all-new Grand Vitara in its electric avatar—the e-Vitara.

The Maruti Suzuki e Vitara is expected to rival EVs of different body styles, like the MG Windsor EV, MG ZS EV, Hyundai Creta Electric, Toyota Urban Cruiser EV, Tata Curvv.ev and Mahindra BE 6.

Suzuki explained that the E-Vitara incorporates lessons from existing EVs and feedback from customers, as the company works on a dedicated platform to advance EV manufacturing and meet expectations for improved driving range.

Suzuki Motor Corp. said that India will be the key export hub for its electric vehicles, hybrids, and small cars.

Japan's Suzuki Motor Corporation plans to enter the electric small car segment in future after gathering experience from its first EV, SUV e VITARA which will make its global debut in India which will be the company's production hub,
