Thailand is one of the top international destinations for Indian tourists, with Bangkok, Pattaya, Phuket, Chiang Mai, and Koh Samui being favourite spots. Starting January 1, 2025, Thailand will launch an e-visa system for Indian passport holders.

Indian passport holders will need an e-visa to enter Thailand. Applications, submitted through an online portal, will be processed within 14 days with offline payment. The current 60-day visa exemption for tourists and short business trips remains.

While Indian tourists can get into Thailand with the ongoing 60-day visa exemption, those travelling to the country for business and other purposes will no longer have to visit the consulates and embassies.

The Royal Thai Embassy in New Delhi has officially announced the rollout of Thailand's Electronic Visa (e-Visa) system in India, effective January 1, 2025.

The Embassy stated that visa applications will be processed approximately within 14 working days from the date the visa fee receipt is issued.

Under the new system, applicants will be required to submit their visa applications exclusively through the official Thai e-Visa portal, thaievisa.go.th.
