Authorities in Shelby County say two men - a father and son - were found dead inside a residence in The Narrows subdivision early Tuesday afternoon.

Officers are on the scene of a standoff in a Shelby County neighborhood and are asking residents to avoid the area.

Two men were found dead inside a home following a standoff where shots were fired in The Narrows area of Shelby County Tuesday morning. The incident began at about 8 a.m. when deputies were serving what Shelby County Sheriff John Samaniego described as a "mental pickup order" on a man in his early 70s at a home in the 200 block of Narrows Drive.
