Reproductive rights advocates are trying to dismantle a 15-week abortion ban in Arizona that conflicts with newly expanded access establishing a fundamental right to abortion in the state

The lawsuit says the 15-week law clearly "denies, restricts or interferes" with the fundamental right to an abortion created by Proposition 139.

Planned Parenthood and other healthcare providers on Tuesday filed a lawsuit seeking to block Arizona's ban on abortions after 15 weeks of pregnancy after voters last month passed an amendment to the state's constitution establishing a right to abortion until fetal viability.
