New Orleans Saints insider Nick Underhill believes ex-Dallas Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy was actually interested in interviewing for the team's vacant head coaching position, despite dropping out of the running last night.

The New Orleans Saints apparently have a new front-runner for their head coach opening. According to CBS Sports NFL insider Jonathan Jones, Philadelphia Eagles offensive coordinator Kellen Moore is "in the driver's seat" for the role after a strong in-person interview on Monday.

McCarthy is the third high-profile candidate to pull out of the Saints' search, joining Buffalo offensive coordinator Joe Brady and Washington offensive coordinator Kliff Kingsbury.
