Telangana government has issued orders enhancing the prices of beer in the State from Tuesday (February 11, 2025) by 15 per cent.

India's Telangana state has allowed beer prices to be increased from Tuesday and has directed that all existing stock to be sold at the revised rates, according to a government order. Heineken's Indian unit United Breweries had last month halted supply briefly over pricing and non-payment of dues by the state government.

With the hike, a 650ml bottle of beer is now expected to cost between ₹170 and ₹180, depending on the brand, making Telangana one of the most expensive states for beer consumption in South India.

India’s top beer-consuming state, Telangana, increased the price of the beverage by 15 per cent, effective February 11, 2025. The hike is a result of the government’s new excise policy.

Hyderabad: With a 15% increase in local beer prices effective Tuesday, the lowest price for a beer bottle will now be 120, while the highest will be 3.
