Houston Texans linebacker Azeez Al-Shaair had his appeal rejected and will serve a three-game suspension for hit on Jacksonville's Trevor Lawrence.

Al-Shaair, the Texans’ defensive captain, tried to appeal the suspension on Wednesday in a meeting with former NFL offensive lineman Ramon Foster. After further review, Foster upheld the length, meaning Al-Shaair won’t return until Week 18’s season finale against the Tennessee Titans.

Shaair’s appeal of his three-game suspension was upheld by hearing officer Ramon Foster, who was jointly appointed by the National Football League (NFL) and NFL Players Association (NFLPA), the league announced on Wednesday night.
