Toyota revealed its latest all-electric vehicle today as the Urban Cruiser compact SUV. The EV, which will be fully revealed at the Brussels Motor Show next month, is intended for the European market, first coming to the UK in the third quarter of 2025.

With a better name than bZ4X, Toyota's second electric SUV has a flexible interior and offers an 181-hp all-wheel-drive variant.

The Toyota Urban Cruiser EV is the badge-engineered Suzuki e Vitara. Both will be manufactured at Maruti Suzuki India's Gujarat plant.

Toyota recently took the wraps off the new Urban Cruiser EV, which is based on the Suzuki e-Vitara. The Urban Cruiser EV will go on sale in global markets next year.

Toyota’s Urban Cruiser will be available with two battery pack options, a 49-kWh battery module and a 61-kWh battery module.

Toyota will add six fully-electric models to its global lineup by 2026, all of them going on sale in Europe first.

Both Toyota Urban Cruiser EV and Suzuki eVitara are global offerings with launch probability in India around mid 2025.

As it is an international model (though it’ll be made in India at Suzuki’s Gujarat facility), the Toyota Urban Cruiser EV will make its public debut at the 2025 Brussels Motor Show, which will begin on January 10. The company has confirmed that prices for the UK-spec model will be announced during the third quarter of 2025.

Despite a lack of compelling small, affordable EVs in America, Toyota isn't bringing the newly revealed Urban Cruiser to the States.
