The Jets have a key advantage in star goaltender Connor Hellebuyck. Hellebuyck has been elite this season, leading the NHL with 26 wins, a 2.02 goals-against average, a .928 save percentage and six shutouts among goalies.

The Jets honoured Hellebuyck prior to the Avs game for reaching 500 games played, 300 wins and 40 shutouts. The club presented Hellebuyck with a silver goalie stick, commemorative puck and a framed piece of art, while the NHL also grabbed a primary assist, chipping in with a gold stick for becoming the third-fastest goalie to reach 300 wins.
