National Weather Service shows that while some models show the area will see snow, that it's not the forecast for Southeast Texas on Feb. 6.

In fact, the National Weather Service Lake Charles shows that Southeast Texas is expecting showers and storms Wednesday through Friday.

A storm is bringing the first-ever blizzard warning issued for Beaumont, Texas, and Lake Charles and Lafayette, Louisiana.

Houstonians, and most in the Gulf region stretching from Galveston to Lake Charles, Louisiana, woke up Tuesday with several inches of snow and subfreezing temperatures. Houston airports and schools remain closed.

As Southeast Texas' next cold front gets closer, the chance of snow also is increasing. The National Weather Service Lake Charles states that a "very cod air mass" is moving into the region on Sunday bringing "subfreezing temperatures and dangerous windchills" from Sunday night through Thursday.

For the first time in the history of the National Weather Service, a Blizzard Warning has been issued for Beaumont, Lake Charles and Lafayette.

A "Freeze Warning" is in effect across southern Arkansas, northern Louisiana, Oklahoma and eastern Texas, as well as in small parts of Arizona, California and Florida, with temperatures falling as low as 27, and wind chills expected to feel as cold as low as 13 in some areas.
