Jeremy Swayman gets net for depleted Bruins

The Boston Bruins were on the wrong side of a 5-1 thumping at the hands of the New Jersey Devils on Wednesday night at Prudential Center.
Dawson Mercer scored twice during New Jersey’s four-goal second period, and the Devils beat the Boston Bruins 5-1.
Goalie Jake Allen came in cold, but he picked up his first win since Nov. 23 at Washington. He stopped all 16 shots he faced.
Boston led, 1-0, after the first period, but couldn’t overcome a miserable second in which the Devils scored four times.
