Nicole Kidman is acting within the acting – faking the Big O. She plays Romy Mathis, and when she “finishes” with hubby Jacob (Antonio Banderas), she skitters down the hall to sprawl on the floor with some porn and actually get the job done.

Babygirl is not currently available to stream on any subscription-based services, but the film will eventually be coming to streaming, on Max, thanks to the 2023 deal between A24 and Warner Bros. Discovery, which brings A24’s previous and upcoming theatrical releases to the streaming service Max.

The movie, starring Nicole Kidman, operates at the level of the female gaze. Its inversion of erotic thriller tropes leads to fascinating but, at times, tepid results.

Babygirl is now available to rent and buy across Video on Demand platforms. The film is now available for purchase on platforms such as YouTube, Prime Video, and AppleTV+ in SD, HD, and UHD formats. Renting it costs $19.99, and buying it costs $24.99. Babygirl will be released on Blu-ray and 4K Ultra HD in March.
