After administering a direct shot to the head of Philadelphia Flyers center Ryan Poehling, New York Islanders forward Maxim Tsyplakov is scheduled for a hearing with the NHL Department of Player Safety on Friday.

The National Hockey League’s Player Safety department announced Friday that Philadelphia Flyers’ forward Scott Laughton has been fined $5,000, the maximum allowable under the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA),

NHL Player Safety has fined Philadelphia Flyers forward Scott Laughton $5,000 for cross-checking New York Islanders forward Maxim Tsyplakov. This is the maximum allowable fine under the CBA. Laughton's cross-check occurred at the 15:30 mark of the third period. The Flyers forward was given a two-minute minor for cross-checking on the play.
