With LIV Golf getting a major network deal with FOX Sports, the competition for the world's greatest players vs. the PGA Tour just got a lot stiffer.

The upstart Saudi-backed golf league that sent shockwaves through professional golf four years ago announced a new broadcast rights deal Thursday with Fox Sports.

The agreement marks the first time the startup league will air on a major sports TV network in the U.S. since its inception in 2022.

The addition of LIV Golf is a natural fit for Fox Sports’ prominent slate of big events, world-class names and premium sports coverage.”

LIV Golf's new CEO, Scott O'Neil, expressed confidence that more players from the breakaway tour will soon compete in the majors, even without world ranking points.
