Vegas Golden Knights defenseman Shea Theodore left the tournament’s opening game against Sweden on Wednesday early in the second period after taking a hit from Los Angeles Kings forward Adrian Kempe. Canada coach Jon Cooper said after the game that Theodore will miss the remainder of the tournament.

Canada already lost one Golden Knights defenseman when Alex Pietrangelo withdrew from the 4 Nations Face-Off. Now, the nation is down another. Defenseman Shea Theodore was forced to leave during the second period of the opening matchup between Canada and Sweden. He was on the receiving end of an awkward hit with Sweden's Adrian Kempe.
