Storm tracking to the south will brush New England with weekend snow
If we look at the jet stream for Friday morning, a massive trough will stretch to the south and help spawn a nasty storm that will likely bring some serious wintry conditions to the Southern states.

Most models now have the storm traveling from Texas, through the southeast, and then out to sea, well south of New England this coming weekend. This is a fairly big change from about 48 hours ago. In fact, there has been a major shift southward in the forecast center and track by several hundred miles.

Mensch said if the storm hits Massachusetts, it could bring some snow showers throughout the day on Saturday. If the winter storm hits Massachusetts this weekend, it could bring up to three inches of snow, according to Caitlyn Mensch, a NWS meteorologist. "A lot of the times of storms like these can vary," Mensch said.
