Kate Middleton, the Princess of Wales, is spreading a message of “love, kindness and forgiveness” ahead of her annual Christmas carol service at Westminster Abbey Dec. 6.

Before wishing the public "a very Merry Christmas," Kate revealed what her carol service is all about: "A reminder that at Christmas, and throughout the year, we must all shine for each other. Because in times of joy and sadness, we are all each other's light."

Princess Kate urged the letter's recipients to consider “the importance of love, empathy and how much we need one another.”
