Vandals damaged more than 100 MARTA bus shelters in just one week. They hit stops mostly around Memorial Drive near Columbia Drive in DeKalb County. The damage costs in the tens of thousands of dollars.

According to police, some bus shelters, including a few on Memorial Drive have been vandalized with graffiti. One was painted with a liquid that etches the glass and makes it impossible for officials to remove.

Over 100 MARTA bus shelters have been vandalized in metro Atlanta, particularly around Memorial Drive, according to a MARTA spokesperson. “It’s deplorable,” said Daryl Denson, a MARTA customer. Panels have been smashed or covered in graffiti that can’t be painted over or power-washed off.
