The regular season has come to a close for the Oklahoma Sooners and now we wait. Wait for the Sooners to hire and offensive coordinator and wait for championship weekend to unfold to see where Oklahoma will play their bowl game.

OU’s ranking marks the first time the Sooners have made an appearance in the poll in the 2024-25 season. Last year, OU was ranked as high as No. 7 following a 10-0 start in non-conference play. The Sooners then went 10-12 over their next 22 games and missed out on the NCAA Tournament.

A former quarterback at West Texas A&M University, Arbuckle got into coaching as a quality control coach at Houston Baptist in 2018 and 2019, helping out with the offensive line and quarterbacks, where he worked with current Texas Tech offensive coordinator Zach Kittley .

Oklahoma has hired Washington State OC Ben Arbuckle to call plays for the Sooners as they look to make a leap next season.
