Sunyetta Thornton, the mother of Wayne McDaniels is searching for answers after her son was killed at Union Station in Washington, D.C.

Detectives have released images of a person they have identified as a suspect in connection to Monday’s homicide in the parking garage of Union Station.

A man was shot around Union Station just before the evening commute, according to D.C. police spokesman Sean Hickman. Officials received a call about 4:40 p.m. that a man had been shot, Hickman said. When authorities arrived, the man, whose age is unknown, was not breathing.

DC Police found a man unconscious and not breathing at the bottom of the escalator leading to the waiting area at Union Station after reports of a shooting around 4:47 p.m. Monday. Despite the efforts of first responders, the man was declared dead on the scene. Police have since identified the victim as 18-year-old Wayne McDaniel.

Homicide detectives in D.C. are asking for the public’s help after a person was shot dead inside the parking garage of Union Station on Monday afternoon.

A male was shot and killed during rush hour Monday afternoon at D.C.'s Union Station. The president lashed out at the pop star on his social media website. The NFL said the person was part of the 400-member field cast and had hidden the flag on himself before the halftime show began Sunday night.

Police have not released any information about the shooter.
