The Bears reached into their past for their latest head coaching interview. The team announced that they have completed an interview with Ron Rivera on Sunday. He is the eighth candidate to meet with the Bears, although Mike Vrabel is now out of the running because he's accepted an offer to coach the Patriots.

Washington made the playoffs during Rivera’s first year as head coach as the team clinched the NFC East despite a 7-9 record. They had a home playoff game, but lost to Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 31-23 in the Wild Card round.
