US President-Elect Donald Trump has publicly celebrated the resignation of the Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Christopher Wray. In a statement, Trump termed Wray’s resignation a victory for justice and the end of what he termed the “weaponization” of the US Department of Justice.

FBI Director Christopher Wray, appointed by then-president Trump and about to be fired by president-elect Trump, has resigned to avoid the humiliation of it. Federal Bureau of Investigation Director Christopher Wray told a town hall of bureau employees on Wednesday that he will resign by the end of the Biden administration next month.
