Storm Éowyn hits North East bringing travel disruption and power cuts
Storm Éowyn is starting to hit the North East and North Yorkshire, with strong winds bringing travel disruption, power cuts and event cancellations. The Met Office say the highest gust in the UK up to midday has been recorded in our region. A gust of 96mph was recorded at a weather station in Brizlee Wood near Alnwick in Northumberland.
