South Africa have selected their strongest available squad for the upcoming three-match ODI series against Pakistan in order to make full use of their last opportunity to play together ahead of next year's Champions Trophy.

The ODI series is set to commence on December 17, just three days after the conclusion of the T20I leg of the series.

South Africa's fast bowler Anrich Nortje's injury woes continued as he was on Thursday ruled out of the remainder of the Twenty20 series and three One-Day Internationals against Pakistan as they named a strong squad for the fixtures in the 50-over format.

Maphaka will join Kagiso Rabada, who makes his return to the ODI squad for the first time since the 2023 ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup semi-final against Australia in November. The squad also features Hollywoodbets Dolphins fast bowler Ottneil Baartman, alongside all-rounders Marco Jansen and Andile Phehlukwayo.
