Jan 6, 2006 · Some enthusiasts like the SA (U.S.Govt Springfield Armory) parts because they were the only USGI armory to produce the M14. Some like Winchester because of their historic background. Some like H&R. And some like me are caught up in the "mystique" of TRW. Some just enjoy good quality M14 parts wether USGI or commercial.
Do TRW parts really add value to an M1a? | M14 Forum
Apr 21, 2010 · That's really about it OBJECTIVELY. This is how the TRW mystique came to be about, except for the natural tendency of humans to glom onto an issue and run away with it. As a collector/hoarder of about 35 lbs. of USGI M14 parts, I would not pay a penny more for TRW. What IS important to me is that the parts are USGI NIW, or in un-issued condition.
What is the Best receiver? - M14 Forum
Feb 12, 2006 · The TRW mystique is questionable to some degree. Cryo any USGI receiver and it will be as good as a TRW is alleged to be. I think we are splitting hairs. I have had several smith billet semi receivers and they were very good, but not better than LRB. In fact, I personally would take an LRB over a Smith semi billet. The Smith is "msytique", that ...
JFK’s Garand - M14 Forum
Nov 22, 2024 · The Kenedy’s have a “mystique” and “royalty” effect on some. It is what it is. The rifle is a piece of Americana, love or hate the Kennedy's, as it was presented to a sitting US President.
Colt CR6920 the Colt forgery that left the Colt plant by Colt
Nov 5, 2023 · It was a common thing to hear "You don't want a Colt made on a Monday, or a Friday after lunch". Taking brand-new stainless steel 1991A1's out of their blue plastic boxes only to find them covered in a layer of orange rust was not surprising at all. The Colt "mystique" was totally debunked for us many decades ago, unfortunately.
Alleged Glenn Nelson M1A - M14 Forum
Nov 4, 2023 · Just saw this rifle from a seller in the Ft. Worth - north central here in Texas. The stamp on the trigger housing, receiver's roll marks as explained and the way it's canted, hammer if correct to as born Glenn's builds, the way he (seller) references NM "weight" vs. standard builds, and coupled with the price makes me suspicious.
I have a rare opportunity to snag a Crazy Horse; worth it?
Feb 21, 2011 · The SEI refurbished SA, Inc. M1A rifle in the original post may or may not be a full blown M21A5-CIED clone. Aside from the lack of select fire features and an optical device, the M21A5-CIED (over a commercial M21A5 clone) is a much improved product over the M
SEI Trigger Job anyone? - M14 Forum
Nov 26, 2015 · The TRW Mystique TRW rifles and parts have a long-standing reputation as better made than the other three M14 manufacturers. This was obvious as early as late 1962. The first TRW rifles were delivered in October, 1962, one month ahead of schedule.
Match conditioned M1 Garand vs. match conditioned M14
Jun 19, 2018 · A Springfield National Match M1A is good to go out of the box for about $2k. A super match is better, but not entirely necessary. Getting a Garand to be really competitive is going to cost just as much, and there seems to be more of a …
Fastest M14 hammer swing (locktime) measurement ever
Oct 13, 2012 · Correction - it is exactly the same as music wire, if heat treated similarly. Benefit is that it can take higher temperatures (important for valve springs in Indy cars - not so much for M14 rifles). So the 'mystique' of CS is actually marketing smoke (read 'BS'). I bought a CS spring and did a high speed video of the hammer.
