The Austin State Hospital provides adult psychiatric services, child and adolescent psychiatric services, forensic competency restoration services and specialty psychiatric services for people who are older or have an intellectual or developmental disability.

Mississippi State Hospital is a publicly funded behavioral health program of the Mississippi Department of Mental Health. The hospital is located on a 350-acre campus in Whitfield, MS, 15 miles southeast of Jackson, the state capital.

The state hospital system serves adults with mental illness (including adults who have co-occurring mental health and addiction issues, who are deaf or hearing impaired, and who have forensic involvement), and children and adolescents with serious emotional disturbances.

Norristown State Hospital is a long-term psychiatric facility that is Medicare and Medicaid certified. The hospital provides treatment for patients with severe and persistent mental illness. Norristown State Hospital is located outside of the city of Philadelphia, in Norristown, Pennsylvania.
